A Scenic Drive
Encourage delegates to experience San Diego’ s Pacific beauty— rent a sleek convertible and enjoy San Diego’ s 59-Mile Scenic Drive. Encompassing many of the city’ s most outstanding attractions, it can be driven in about three hours— but only if you don’ t make many stops! Marked by blue and yellow signs illustrated with a white seagull and posted every quarter mile, the route meanders around Downtown, the beaches, Mission Bay and La Jolla, and passes right through the heart of Balboa Park and the Gaslamp Quarter. There are 26 highlighted sights along the route, including Cabrillo National Monument at the tip of Point Loma and Mount Soledad in La Jolla, offering spectacular views of the Pacific, Mission Bay and the mountains of East County. Frequent photo stops are mandatory.
