The opening of the new Terminal 1 at San Diego International Airport( SAN) enhances an already seamless travel experience across both terminals. With intuitive layouts, streamlined roadway access, and efficient transportation connections, navigating SAN is simple and stress-free— whether attendees arrive through Terminal 1 or Terminal 2. The result is a smooth, reliable journey from curb to gate, helping guests arrive relaxed, on time, and ready to engage in all that San Diego has to offer.
Ground Transportation All land-based travel options for passengers are available from every terminal, including rental car and parking shuttles, buses, taxis, and rideshare services, accompanied by on-site customer service support.
Rental Car Center Visitors can pick up and return vehicles at the airport’ s consolidated Rental Car Center at 355 Admiral Boland Way, San Diego, CA 92101. Located on the north side of the airport, the facility brings all rental car services together in one place. Free dedicated shuttles run continuously between the terminals and the center, using a private on-airport roadway to bypass busy city streets.
Shops and Restaurants Travelers can enjoy an expanded mix of local favorites, regional concepts, and well-known national brands throughout the airport. Dining highlights include San Diego staples like Phil ' s BBQ and Stone Brewing, alongside popular options such as Einstein Bros. Bagels, Peet’ s Coffee, and McDonald ' s. Newer additions like Better Buzz Coffee, Novecientos Grados by Tony Hawk, Parfait Paris, JT Bros, Cutwater Spirits, and SIP Wine Bar further elevate the experience, complemented by a variety of retail offerings that bring together local character and nationally recognized brands across the terminals.
Ride-sharing Companies Multiple app-based rideshare services operate at San Diego International Airport, with service available from every terminal. Lost & Found SAN Lost and Found is ready to help reunite you with your belongings. Items are collected from across the airport, including restrooms, TSA security checkpoints, the SAN Flyer, Inter-Terminal, Rental Car Center, and employee shuttles, and other interior and exterior public areas.
