San Diego Transportation

With a number of amazing regions in San Diego, it’ s easy to fill any itinerary with experiences available right outside your door. Still, if you want to explore a bit more, the good news is that there are any number of transit options that allow you to navigate the region easily.
BY AIR
SAN DIEGO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT With its convenient location near Downtown, San Diego International Airport makes it easy for attendees to step out of the terminal into the sunshine and be at their hotel or meeting within minutes. The airport adheres to best-inclass safety protocols. It’ s also now served by the free San Diego Flyer, an electric-shuttle service that whisks visitors from the two main terminals to the transit hub at Old Town. The airport recently underwent a significant renovation of Terminal 1, adding 30 new gates and exciting new dining options from highly acclaimed local chefs and restaurants.
CROSS BORDER XPRESS – TIJUANA Another great airport option is the recently upgraded Cross Border Xpress( CBX) terminal, which uses a bridge to connect the Tijuana International Airport with a service terminal in San Diego, allowing visitors to conveniently fly in and out of Tijuana, providing more, and often more affordable, opportunities for international travel. CBX follows the safety protocols of both the United States and Mexico as well as the approved health guidelines of the World Travel & Tourism Council. CBX enables travelers to buy tickets online as well as download boarding passes and complete immigration papers at home. Travelers can also scan their tickets from their cell phones, which automatically opens the terminal’ s electronic gates. The CBX terminal is just 20 minutes from Downtown San Diego, providing a convenient second international airport option for your attendees.
BY LAND
AIRPORT TRANSPORTATION Once visitors arrive at either airport, there are plenty of options for getting to their hotels, including shuttles, taxis, rideshare, limousines and town cars.
CONSOLIDATED RENTAL CAR CENTER For those looking for their own wheels during their stay, San Diego International Airport now offers an all-in-one Rental Car Center that features national brands, local companies and independent businesses. At 2 million square feet, the facility can hold as many as 5,400 cars and is easy to get to via a free shuttle bus. The Rental Car Center also follows the same safe guidelines as the San Diego Airport.
