That spirit can be seen not just in the diverse communities that make up San Diego but also in the wide range of neighborhood festivals, performing-arts events, museums, film festivals and dining opportunities that reflect San Diego’ s multicultural makeup. Those celebrations include San Diego Pride, the San Diego Jewish Film Festival, the Martin Luther King Jr. Parade, San Diego Pacific Arts Movement, the Vietnamese Tet Festival, the San Diego Latino Film Festival, Sycuan Pow-Wow, the Portuguese Festa de Espirito Santo, the annual San Diego Greek Festival, Dia de los Muertos and many others.
In addition, Balboa Park, the new Black Arts and Culture District, the Martin Luther King Promenade that runs through Downtown, and the nearby Chinese Historic District are just a few of the multicultural landmarks that add tremendous richness to the region.
SDTA is proud to be contributing to that tradition of diversity through our 5013 affiliates, the San Diego Tourism Foundation and its flagship program, the Tourism Accelerator. The Accelerator offers custom education and resources for up to 15 small businesses owned by individuals from underrepresented communities and those advancing environmental sustainability to support their participation and long-term success within the local tourism economy.
