The USS Midway Museum has been named“ Event Venue of the Year” in a national poll of meeting planners and is also the 5th most popular museum of any type in the U. S. out of 35,000 museums on TripAdvisor. The airport only two miles away and a mere one mile from the convention center. Midway is also within easy walking distance of many downtown hotels.
The USS Midway Museum boasts two unique decks of expansive and versatile event space. The Flight Deck, with approximately 50,000 square feet of dramatic event space, is available in the evenings and features 25 beautifully restored military aircraft and an unmatched 360-degree view of the San Diego Bay and skyline. The Hangar Deck features two column-free enclosed hangar bays with 17,000 square feet of museum ambiance and raw space. This area can be transformed to fit any event vision! The Hangar Deck and Flight Deck combined creates a fusion of indoor and outdoor space that can accommodate up to 4,000 guests.
The USS Midway Museum also has two meeting rooms available for daytime meetings. Each has a capacity of 30. Amenities include additional breakout rooms, internet access, built-in audio-and-video capability, and optional catering.
