San Diego’ s North Coastal region along historic HIGHWAY 101 is lined with quintessential beach communities. Del Mar is home to the popular DEL MAR THOROUGHBRED CLUB, made famous by Bing Crosby and his Hollywood pals in the 1940s, which provides two dynamic horse racing seasons, in late summer and fall. The DEL MAR FAIRGROUNDS hosts the annual San Diego County Fair in June, along with special exhibits and events throughout the year. Carlsbad is home to LEGOLAND

San Diego’ s North Inland region covers diverse settings, including the SAN DIEGO ZOO SAFARI PARK, where the climate and topography of the SAN PASQUAL VALLEY allow animals to roam free over 1,800 acres.
