The largest man-made aquatic park in the country, MISSION BAY PARK encompasses more than 4,200 acres and is the perfect playground for water enthusiasts. Located just minutes from Downtown and the SAN DIEGO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT and set in the heart of San Diego’ s central beach area, the park offers a myriad of recreational options. Some popular options include an 18-hole golf course, 27 miles of paths for biking, jogging and walking, and designated water areas for jet skiing, waterskiing, swimming, paddle boarding and kayaking. Kites fly above playgrounds and picnic areas where families and groups of all sizes can congregate for parties, picnics and special occasions. SEAWORLD SAN DIEGO is Mission Bay’ s most noted attraction, making the area ideal for delegates with families. A wide variety of upscale resorts and familyfriendly hotels featuring bountiful meeting and event spaces, soothing spas, outdoor dining and recreational activities line the bay, offering delegates a tranquil, tropical experience.
On the western side of Mission Bay Park along the blue Pacific, MISSION BEACH is one of San Diego’ s most popular shorelines. Cyclists, in-line skaters and walkers trek along a 3-mile-long boardwalk that connects with neighboring PACIFIC BEACH. The broad, sandy beach attracts families, surfers, college students and sun worshippers throughout the year. Mission Beach is also home to BELMONT PARK, with its historic GIANT DIPPER roller coaster and popular BEACH HOUSE venue, ideal for outdoor special events. Mission and Pacific beaches offer attendees the quintessential Southern California beach experience, with streets full of cool stores and hip boutiques, surf shops, casual local eateries, coffee houses and a fun, relaxed nightlife scene. Several of the area’ s restaurants and clubs also have party spaces that can be rented for special events. Located just south of Mission Beach is eclectic OCEAN BEACH, a classic slice of small-town beach living. Here, attendees traveling with their pets can romp together on the popular Dog Beach, while others can enjoy NEWPORT AVENUE, home to a colorful selection of novelty shops, stores, bars, and eateries.

Pro and amateur athletes love playing in San Diego’ s temperate climate and sunshine. Olympic hopefuls practice rowing, soccer, cycling and BMX racing at Chula Vista’ s Olympic Training Center. Famed skateboarder Tony Hawk, a local sports celebrity, has made sure San Diego has plenty of skateboard parks found throughout the region. Surf legend Rob Machado lives for the surf at Cardiff and Encinitas in North County. For adventure seekers, there is paragliding above Torrey Pines State Beach, and hikers, mountain bikers, campers and rock climbers head to the vast wilderness of East County, where pine forests, mountains, rivers and deserts can be discovered.
